Information for vape device users in Colombia

information for vape device users

Through a resolution published in early June, the Colombian consumer protection authority issued guidelines aimed at producers and marketers of electronic cigarettes and vapes, with the purpose of ensuring adequate access to information for consumers of these products.

This measure aligns with the law enacted by Congress in 2024, which regulated the marketing, consumption, and advertising of these devices, and establishes that producers must provide clear, written information in Spanish regarding aspects such as usage instructions, lifespan, safety warnings, battery type, power, maintenance, included accessories, and warranty. This requirement applies to both rechargeable and disposable devices.

Additionally, for e-commerce sales, companies must ensure that all this information is available and visible before the purchase is completed.

The authority granted a six-month period for businesses to adapt their processes and comply with these obligations.
