On 19 February 2018, the Peruvian Antitrust Authority (INDECOPI in Spanish) imposed antidumping duties on zipper imports and its original parts that are produced in China, after testing the damage that the import of these products caused to the national production.
Regarding the effect of imports on the prices of the domestic product, INDECOPI could notice the undervaluation of the price of the product imported from China compared to the price of the domestic product, and the reduction of the price of domestic production, as happens with the Chinese product imports (whose price tends to fall).
