As a part of the commitment the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce has with fomenting innovation and technological development, they’ve launched a new call for applications regarding the 14th edition of the National Colombian Inventor Award. Said award is considered as an exemplary initiative to stimulate new creations, while simultaneously encouraging industrial property advancements. The call will hold the following categories: Youth, Women Inventors, Research, Inventors, Micro and Small Enterprises (MIPYMES) and Industry.
The Superintendence opened the call since the 28th of april and applicants will have until the 4th of july of 2025 to submit their creations. The ceremony award for the winners of all categories will take place in the following month of august. Winners will receive an official SIC recognition, along with media promotion and visibility through institutional and external platforms. Additionally, two special mentions will be awarded: one to the top invention from regions classified as Type 2 or 3 territorial entities, and another to the invention with the greatest commercial potential.
Winners in the Inventor and MIPYMES categories will also qualify for the Inventor Assistance Program (IAP), in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
