On April 18th, the Jurisdictional Delegation of the Colombian Trademarks and Patents Office, responsible for handling specialized legal proceedings concerning consumer protection, unfair competition, and infringement of industrial property rights, decided to temporarily suspend the attendance of these cases from April 24th to June 10th 2024.
The Delegation took this measure to respond to the significant backlog of ongoing cases, which has escalated notably since the shutdown of two Colombian airlines last year.
This suspension not only means that ongoing cases will not be processed during this period, but also that no new filings will be accepted. Consequently, citizens will need to seek recourse through the regular judicial system.
