The 2022 report of the WIPO’s World Intellectual Property Indicators is out: 2021 was the highest year of IP filings in history.

China clearly put its efforts up front on innovation and IP, being the country with the highest number of applications in all fields.
What can we expect for the coming years?
The boom in patent applications may suggest solid confidence in patent treaties.
2021 also demonstrated to be a favorable year for patent filings in Colombia. According to the WIPO’s web page, the number of applications from residents went from 369 in 2020 to 432 in 2021.
