The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) has set new rates for various industrial property procedures, with the possibility of future adjustments based on a technical study.
Among the updated fees, the request for an invention patent will cost $113,000 COP online and $140,000 COP in person, while utility model patents will cost $100,000 COP online and $123,000 COP in person.
The fees for patentability examination requests for invention patents are also updated, with rates this year set at $1,750,000 COP online and $2,096,500 COP in person. The 2025 rate schedule also includes new provisions for patent rates for winners of the National Colombian Inventor Award, beneficiaries of the Inventors Assistance Program (PAI), and others.
Additionally, the SIC will offer a 25% discount on fees for various applications, including trademarks, trade slogans, and industrial designs. This initiative aims to encourage the protection of intellectual property in the country.
