As of April 1st, 2024, the European Patent Office (EPO) will increase its general fees by approximately 5%, or up to 30% for certain annuities, as European patent application renewal fees from the third and up to the tenth subsequent year.
It may be advisable to pay certain outstanding official fees, such as maintenance fees that can be paid up to 3 months in advance, or even file new patent applications before that date, in order to reduce costs.
