On October 7, 2022, President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order establishing measures for the protection of privacy and personal data during signal intelligence activities conducted by the United States. This Executive Order adds to U.S. legislation the agreement in principle reached between the U.S. Government and the European Commission that promotes transatlantic data flows and addresses concerns that stem from the Schrems II decision. With this, international transfer of personal data is promoted, making us one step closer to achieving adequate and uniform data protection standards across jurisdictions.
