Recently, over 1,300 notable signatories –including tech legends Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak– sent an open letter urging generative artificial intelligence developers to slow down their progress.

Responding to these concerns, the Cyberspace Administration of China has implemented a series of measures to ensure that users “scientifically understand and rationally use the content generated” without violating copyright or image rights, damaging reputations, or engaging in anti-government propaganda.

Moreover, all AI-generated content must reflect socialist values and not promote national division, among other requirements.

These measures by the Chinese government reinforce global efforts to limit the scope of AI development, particularly regarding training AI models on copyrighted material, to safeguard related industries like the music or the audiovisual industry.
