Through a Proimágenes Colombia report shared exclusively with Semana, the economic effects of the Act promoting cinematographic activity in Colombia over the past five years were revealed.
The law, in addition to encouraging audiovisual production in the country, has turned Colombia into an attractive film-making destination for foreign companies.
To date, 26 projects have been completed and 6 more are in the execution stage or final audit, a total spend in the country of roughly COP 128 billion by foreign producers.
According to the report, Colombia receives a net COP 2.9 for every COP 100 invested by international productions, producing a total net revenue stream of about COP 3.7 billion.
