Juan Pablo earned his J.D. from Universidad de San Buenaventura in 2010. He holds a master’s in business law and a specialization in Commercial Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, alongside a specialization in Taxation from Universidad de los Andes. In 2025, he earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate, Commercial, and Trade Law from the University of Illinois College of Law. During his final semester, he was recognized with academic honors, received the prestigious CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Federal Tax Policy, and served as President of the International Student Association.

With 15 years of experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and corporate governance, he possesses a proven executive track record as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer within highly complex, regulated sectors. He has spearheaded strategic cross-border transactions between Colombia and the United States, including the legal structuring of $120 million in share-and-asset sales and $25 million in equity acquisitions. His expertise further encompasses designing comprehensive, end-to-end compliance frameworks (ABAC/AML), executing corporate risk mitigation, and implementing sophisticated tax optimization strategies.

In his current practice, he provides strategic legal counsel to the life sciences sector with a steadfast focus on regulatory compliance. He adeptly translates complex regulatory frameworks into actionable operational solutions, enabling pharmaceutical clients to standardize processes and safeguard business continuity. Furthermore, he architects robust compliance ecosystems, leads high-stakes negotiations for strategic corporate agreements, and manages technical engagements with regulatory authorities to clarify legal ambiguities, thereby ensuring regulatory certainty for clients operating in dynamic environments.
