Identify the intellectual property rights to be used in the production and determine whether these require licensing… no unexpected plot twists in post-production.

Filming Permits (PUFA)

In Bogotá, public filming requires the Unified Permit for Audiovisual Filming (PUFA by its acronym in Spanish). It’s a single process that brings together all environmental, safety, and mobility requirements.

Getting your PUFA

Create an account at suma-dadep.gov.co.

Select your permit type (Ordinary or Urgent).

Upload your schedule, location details, and contact info.

If traffic is affected, include a Transit Management Plan (PMT).

Keep your permit visible on set at all times.

Shooting in natural or public spaces

Filming in parks or natural areas? You’ll need an Environmental Management Plan (PMA). If the space is managed by the IDRD, submit a Special Plan with the additional details requested.

Contracts and related rights

Every participant, from actors to composers, should have clear contracts.
Remember: music, art, and even architecture seen on screen can carry their own IP rights.
