Colombian-Brazilian living in Bogota, Melissa obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Languages and Sociocultural Studies from Universidad de Los Andes in 2008. Since then, she has worked simultaneously as a foreign language teacher and translator.

In 2016, she completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and, in 2018, she was certified as an Official Translator & Interpreter (Spanish-English) at Universidad de Antioquia. Then, in March 2022, she completed a certification course in Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language from IBRACO and SIPLE.

Melissa has over fifteen years of experience in translation and, since 2012, she specializes in translation of academic, technical and legal texts, particularly in the field of intellectual property. She has also worked as a Portuguese teacher for major universities in the country and has more than ten years of experience as a translator and proofreader of academic papers for publication.

Currently, Melissa is a Junior Project Manager at OlarteMoure’s Language Center, providing support in the operational and quality assurance processes of the team.
