Laura Marcela Plata Suárez is a Microbiologist and Bioanalyst, graduated from the Universidad Industrial de Santander in 2017. During her academic training, she developed research projects focused on the pathogenesis of HPV and the immunogenicity of peptides derived from the major viral capsid protein. This work provided her with valuable knowledge in the fields of virology and immunology, demonstrating her commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in these areas. In 2018, she obtained a certification in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Progenitors at the ONEBLOOD Institute in the United States, and in October 2024, she completed her Master of Science studies in Biomedicine and Molecular Biotechnology at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, obtaining Cum Laude recognition.

Laura worked as a junior researcher at the Cell Therapy Unit of the District Institute of Science, Biotechnology and Innovation in Health, in projects related to medical applications of mesenchymal stromal cells, specifically in transplantation and immunomodulation. Subsequently, she worked as coordinator and manager of research projects related to haematopoietic progenitor cells at the Fundación Banco Nacional de Sangre Hemolife.

She was part, from 2019 to 2022, of OlarteMoure as a technical associate in the patent area, specializing in the search, drafting and prosecution of patents in chemistry and biotechnology for offices in Latin America and the United States. In addition, she has provided strategic advice in litigation and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis, strengthening the legal protection of technological innovations in these sectors. Throughout her career, and again as a member of the firm, Laura has integrated her expertise in biomedical and biotechnology research with strong innovation management, contributing to the development of scientific breakthroughs and designing strategies for the legal protection of technologies that are transforming the scientific and technological landscape.
