Iván David is a mechanical engineer graduated from the Universidad del Norte, specialising in Production and Operations Management at the same university and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in intellectual property at the Universidad de los Andes. He has professional experience in the area of medicines and medical devices, specifically in the on-site generation of medical oxygen and in the manufacture of osteosynthesis material. Additionally, he has experience in GMP and has received audits from INVIMA for the certification of Good Manufacturing Practices for Medicinal Gases.

His professional practice has been focused on intellectual property, he has seven years of experience working at OlarteMoure & Asociados, in the area of patents. In his practice in this area, he has gained extensive experience in drafting, preparing and prosecuting patent and industrial design applications, oppositions, prior art search, technical assistant in litigation, patent validity analysis, infringement analysis and freedom to operate analysis.  Ivan is a member of AIPLA’s industrial design committee.
