Colombian judicial recess and operational rules  

The Superior Council of the Judiciary announced that the judicial recess will begin on Saturday, 20 December 2025, and will end on Saturday, 10 January 2026, during which courts will observe collective vacations. However, municipal criminal courts, courts overseeing the enforcement of sentences and security measures, as well as the Superior Council of the Judiciary, regional judicial councils and administrative units will continue operating normally. During the recess, writs of protection (tutelas) may be filed online on business days, while habeas corpus petitions will be received 24/7. The “Online Filing” system will remain temporarily unavailable and will resume operations on Monday, 13 January 2026, the first business day following the end of the judicial recess.
