Following the State Council’s decision to annul Cielo Rusinque’s appointment as Superintendent of Industry and Commerce, after determining that she did not meet the experience requirements at the time of her designation, the official submitted her resignation. This was accepted by Decree 0322 of March 25, 2026. Consequently, Diego Andrés Solano Osorio, who had already been with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce for several years, was appointed as Acting Superintendent.
Subsequently, the Colombian Presidency issued a public call for applications for the position of Superintendent through a publication on its official website. This call was directed at individuals who could demonstrate compliance with the current requirements, which had been previously relaxed by the Government, reducing the experience requirements for the position.
The publication also included Cielo Rusinque’s resume, considering the possibility of her eventual reappointment under the updated regulatory framework. In this context, the appointment of the Superintendent of Industry and Commerce is pending. The inclusion of the former official’s resume could be interpreted as an indication of a possible new appointment, considering that, with the relaxation of the requirements, she would now meet the necessary conditions. However, the final decision has not yet been announced.
