On 8 November 2018, the Intellectual Property Office of Peru (INDECOPI in Spanish) announced that the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will technically assist the Government of Peru in the process of bringing the country into the Inventor Assistance Program (IAP), through which it seeks to promote free access of the Peruvian community to many services in the field of intellectual property.
With the implementation of the IAP, Peru hopes that Peruvian inventors and microenterpreneurs can access regular and permanent support services for the protection of their inventions and innovations.
