Last week, Minciencias launched Call No. 978 for Strengthening National Capacities for Health Sovereignty, one of the most important funding opportunities of the year for Colombia’s science, technology, and innovation ecosystem.
The call offers 109,000 million pesos—equivalent to approximately USD 27 million—to co-fund high-impact research, development, and innovation projects.
The call is aimed at partnerships between universities, research centers, healthcare providers, companies, and other stakeholders in the National Science, Technology, and Innovation System (CTeI), with initiatives focused on strategic health technologies, the One Health approach, antimicrobial resistance, mental health, healthy aging, and priority diseases.
The deadline for submitting proposals is August 27, 2026, so now is the time to form partnerships, verify compliance with the requirements, and develop a solid proposal.
