filming permits

If you’re planning to shoot outdoors in public space, Bogotá requires a permit called PUFA (Unified Permit for Audiovisual Filming, by its acronym in Spanish).

Create your account

Start by creating your profile on the official platform:

https://suma.dadep.gov.co

number two

Choose the type of PUFA

Before uploading anything, you must decide what kind of permit applies to your shoot:
urgent vs ordinary pufa
number three

Register your project information

Here’s what the platform will ask you to upload:

    1. Your shooting schedule
    2. The exact address of the filming location
    3. Contact details for:
      1. The person responsible for the permit
      2. The location manager
      3. The community relations contact
    4. Information about waste management
    5. Blueprints and photographs of the location

Important: If your shoot involves IDRD public venues (sports and recreational scenarios), the platform will require a Special Plan, plus additional documentation.

number two

If you affect mobility, you’ll need a Traffic Management Plan (PMT)

This usually applies when there is:

  • AClosure of sidewalks or lanes
  • AEquipment occupying public space
  • AAny relevant mobility impact

Your PMT must include:

  • RA map of the shooting area
  • RDetailed photographs of the public space involved
  • RA technical site plan, including measurements of:
  • NSidewalks
  • NRoads
  • NSignage and filming setup
  • RA Socialization Act signed by residents of the area
number three

If the location is a Natural Public Space, you may need an Environmental Management Plan (PMA)

If your shoot takes place in a public natural area, the PUFA process may require a PMA (Environmental Management Plan). This ensures the project properly manages environmental risks and protects the area.

Before submitting, keep these practical tips in mind:

  • UThe maps requested by the platform can usually be taken directly from Google Maps.
  • UDescribe filming activities clearly (lighting rigs, generators, parking, special conditions, etc.).
  • UAlways keep a copy of your PUFA available on set.
  • USocializing with the community is advised. A clear and respectful communication process can prevent delays, complaints, or interruptions.
