María José is a lawyer graduated from Universidad EAFIT (Medellín, Colombia). In 2023, she obtained her degree of Specialist in Commercial Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia). In 2019, she completed the program ‘Introduction to the US Legal System’ at Fordham University, New York, and is currently a candidate for the LLM in Competition, Innovation, and Information Law at New York University (NYU).

Since 2020 María José has been part of the OlarteMpure team, starting as an intern in the Trademark area. For more than four years she participated in the management of trademark portfolios, protection of intangible assets in industrial property and the consolidation of trademark protection strategies for national and international companies in various economic sectors.

María José is currently based in New York as the Firm’s International Associate. In this position, she seeks to strengthen relationships with clients and allied firms in the United States, to ensure timely attention to clients by facilitating networking activities in that jurisdiction. Finally, she is a member of the Famous and Well Known Trademarks committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and actively supports the consolidation of the pro bono practice as a member of the internal committee, ensuring a significant social impact in our community.
