Regulatory model to modernize health management

INVIMA has issued Resolution 2025029237, through which it adopts a pro-competitive regulatory model aimed at transforming the management of health-related procedures in Colombia. This measure marks a milestone in institutional modernization and seeks to facilitate regulatory compliance without compromising quality, safety, or public health protection.

The resolution establishes a comprehensive transformation of the sanitary registration and marketing approval processes through the implementation of “InvimÁgil”, a new technological platform that digitizes and automates interactions between INVIMA and stakeholders in the productive sector. This tool will enable self-management of procedures, system interoperability, decision traceability, and the strengthening of health surveillance based on a risk approach.

The new model directly impacts multiple industrial sectors, including food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), drugs and medicines (chemical, biological, herbal, homeopathic), cosmetics, cleaning products and pesticides for domestic and public health use, medical devices, in vitro diagnostic reagents, dietary supplements, and clinical research.

Among the most notable benefits are the elimination of unnecessary barriers, standardization of procedures, time savings in administrative processes, and greater transparency in decision-making. Thus, a more agile and competitive regulatory environment is promoted, boosting business productivity—especially for small and medium-sized enterprises—while maintaining a strong focus on health responsibility.

The measure will be implemented progressively, with transitional mechanisms to ensure user adaptation. With this resolution, INVIMA takes a decisive step toward institutional efficiency and the strengthening of Colombia’s health ecosystem.
