A new Patent Director has been appointed at the Colombian Patent and Trademark Office: Dr. Sandra Calderón, chemist by training and a PhD in Chemical Sciences.
She has more than 15 years of experience in patent examination at the PTO, particularly, in the field of chemistry, agrochemicals, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sciences. Among the salient reasons for this designation was her PhD.
Dr. Calderon will lead a team in charge of prosecuting patent applications, utility models, industrial designs, and even take part in Compulsory Licensing proceedings.
