According to its accountability report, during the 2024–2025 period, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, through the Deputy Superintendence for Consumer Protection, recorded a 92.8% increase in the number of administrative investigations, rising from 139 investigations in 2024 to 318 in 2025. Likewise, the number of sanctions imposed increased by 50.9%, from 169 sanctions in 2024 to 255 in 2025, while the total value of sanctions grew by 155.7%, increasing from COP $8,507,447,000 in 2024 to COP $21,749,100,420 during the 2024–2025 period, evidencing a substantial strengthening of inspection, surveillance, and enforcement activities
Additionally, with regard to citizen services, the Entity reported 28,790 complaints addressed during the 2024–2025 period, within a context in which, throughout 2024, institutional efforts were focused on the management and resolution of proceedings, the reduction of response times, and the strengthening of territorial presence through fairs, outreach routes, and Consumer Protection Offices. These actions made it possible to optimize service capacity compared to the previous period, contributing to improved effective access for citizens to consumer protection mechanisms and to the consolidation of public trust in institutional management.
For its part, the Deputy Superintendence for Personal Data Protection recorded a significant increase in its activities, with a 39% growth in proceedings and the imposition of sanctions totaling COP $8,313,255,652, reflecting a substantial strengthening of oversight in the processing of personal data.
It is noteworthy that the updating of the legal framework, the implementation of artificial intelligence tools, and the strengthening of national and international cooperation consolidate the Entity as a strategic actor in the defense of rights in increasingly complex digital and economic environments.
