The Peruvian Patent Office (PPO)\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0that the Global Patent Prosecution Highway (Global PPH) has come into force in the country.<\/p>\n

With Global PPH, applicants in Peru will be able to apply for accelerated prosecution, as long as one of the 25 patent offices party to the agreement has previously granted a patent over the same invention.<\/p>\n

As stated by the PPO, the agreement represents a significant breakthrough when it comes to patent rights in Peru, as previously there were only bilateral agreements for expedited patent prosecution.
