On 4 November 2018, the 588 Official Gazette of the Venezuelan Industrial Property Registry was published<\/a>\u00a0comprised of Sixteen Volumes and 21 Administrative Resolutions.<\/p>\n

Through this bulletin, the Administrative Office seeks to reduce the accumulation of pending work, focusing on first level appeal resources (Reconsideration Actions) and cancellation actions submitted so far.\u00a0 With this mechanism it is sought that interested parties confirm their intention and interest in sustaining the appeal and\/or the cancellation action (for lack of use, for loss of distinctive power), until 14 January 2019.<\/p>\n

Any party interested must provide a written statement of interest and ratify the initiated administrative appeal and\/or cancellation action .\u00a0 If timely formalized, the National Patent and Trademark Office will declare the procedure expired and the decision will be final.\u00a0 In some cases this will lead to the loss of the internal priority or abandonment of the administrative docket, and in other cases, the abandonment of the action due to cancellation.<\/p>\n
