On 22 May 2018,\u00a0Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO) attended the European Parliament, in order to answer the questions posed by several representatives of the European Union (EU) regarding the security and privacy of users of the social network<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The meeting with the parliament took place before the entry into force of the new Data Protection Regime of the European Union, which will become effective as of May 25, 2018 and which will be applied by Facebook globally. \u00a0At the same time, meeting also coincides with the deadline week for all companies located in the EU or that handle personal data of EU residents, to incorporate the obligations contained in the new European data protection regime.<\/p>\n
