In the next months (and as result of\u00a0Decree 356 issuance \u2013which took place on 3 April 2018-<\/a>\u00a0),\u00a0the Ecuadorian Patent and Trademark Office (IEPI in Spanish) was transformed into the National Service of Intellectual Rights (SENADI)<\/a>.\u00a0 The new institution will assume the current functions of the IEPI (and will incorporate new ones).\u00a0 The transition must occur within a maximum period of 180 days (that is, before October 2018).<\/p>\n

SENADI will protect all rights covered by intellectual property (copyright, patents, trademarks, industrial designs, commercial slogans, geographical indications, topographies, plant varieties, etc.), and will have changes in its organic structure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
