On 13 February 2018, a\u00a0Federal District Court Judge in Los Angeles\u00a0dismissed a copyright infringement case\u00a0against Taylor Swift<\/a>.\u00a0 In his opinion, the allegedly infringing lyrics used by Swift in her song \u201cShake it off\u201d lacked\u00a0even the modest level of creativity required for copyright protection.\u00a0 So if there was copying, it was only of unprotected elements.<\/p>\n

The case stems back to\u00a0a complaint for copyright infringement\u00a0filed last September against Swift and music production companies connected to the\u00a0Shake it off\u00a0recording.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
