(INPI in Portuguese) issued Resolution 202\/2017, which establishes application criteria on its side for the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) signed between INPI and the European Patent Office (EPO)<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution will enter into force on 1 December 2017, and\u00a0limits the PPH scope to patent applications filed in Brazil\u00a0related to chemistry and technologies applied to medicine (except pharmaceuticals) fields.\u00a0\u00a0The PPH will be in a pilot phase for 2 years and 300 applications can benefit from it annually.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Antitrust Authority of Colombia (SIC in Spanish)\u00a0announced the opening of an investigation against Procter &amp; Gamble, Postob\u00f3n, Equi\u00f3n Energ\u00eda and Carbones del Cerrej\u00f3n for restrictive trade practices<\/a><\/span>, and specifically for alleged obstruction\u00a0in the free circulation of invoices issued by its suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>According to the SIC, the obstruction to the circulation of invoices limits the financing channels of SMEs, which not only affects the growth of those, but also affects consumers, considering that financing costs are transferred to goods and services prices.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation was also opened\u00a0to the tax auditing firms Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst &amp; Young and KPMG, for alleged\u00a0non-compliance\u00a0of\u00a0its legal duties by keeping silence on the matter in annual reviews.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the American Chamber of Commerce to Peru (AmCham Peru)\u00a0warned that 3 international arbitration centers installed in Peru could\u00a0leave the href=\"http:\/\/www.leyes.congreso.gob.pe\/Documentos\/2016_2021\/Proyectos_de_Ley_y_de_Resoluciones_Legislativas\/PL0108820170315..pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bill (No. 1088-2016\/CR)<\/a><\/span>\u00a0modifying arbitration rules of that country is approved.<\/p>\n<p>According to Amcham Peru, the new law would intervene directly and negatively in arbitrators designation, which\u00a0goes against the rules of the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the London Court of International Arbitration, since these entities would have no control over\u00a0arbitrators designation in its awards.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the proposed amendments deviate from the Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration of the United Nations Commission for International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), applicable in current Peruvian law.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:
