(ii) the measures to be taken in order to prevent damage; (iii) the creation of a defective-products database; and (iv) the enforcement of sanctions and control measures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please note that the\u00a0Decree enters into force on 27 October 2016, six months after its issuance.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>LATIN AMERICA\u00a0| Intellectual Property\u00a0|\u00a0USTR Special 301 Report: several countries in the region included due to lack of adequate IP rights protection<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The United States Trade Representative (USTR) Office recently published its 2016 Special 301 Report discussing the adequate and effective protection of Intellectual Property rights worldwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Report considers that 14 countries in the region do not provide sufficient protection to IP Rights.\u00a0 In particular, Argentina, Chile and Venezuela are included in the Priority Watch List due to deficiencies in anti-counterfeiting as well as patent and trademark protection. \u00a0Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico and Peru remain on the Watch List.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The detailed report <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/USTR-2016-Special-301-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">could be viewed here<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>COLOMBIA\u00a0| Intellectual Property\u00a0|\u00a0The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce modifies fees and form of delivery of public information own of their functions<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The SIC (IP Office) issued <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Resolucion-20345-del-22-de-abril-de-2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regulation N\u00b0 20345 (2016)<\/a><\/span> which defines a new regulation and fee schedule applicable to certifications, records requests and access to public information from their records.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new regulation provides better access to SIC information, allowing the use of digital media at reasonable fees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MEXICO\u00a0| Patents\u00a0|\u00a0Updates in the list of officially recognized institutions for the deposit of biologic material .
