This regulation aims to improve the nutrition of the Colombian population and contribute to the prevention of micronutrient deficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>From a regulatory standpoint, the decree introduces direct obligations for producers, importers, and distributors, who must ensure that these products contain minimum levels of nutrients such as iron, zinc, folic acid, and specific vitamins, in accordance with defined technical parameters. The measure applies to both domestically manufactured products and those imported from abroad, implying a significant impact on international trade dynamics and importation processes.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the regulation strengthens <a href=\"https:\/\/olartemoure.com\/en\/updates-on-labeling-and-adhesive-rules-for-food\/\">quality control and labeling requirements<\/a>, mandating the explicit declaration of fortification on packaging and establishing clear responsibilities under self-control schemes. In this regard, INVIMA will play a key role in the inspection, surveillance, and enforcement of compliance.<\/p>\n<p>The decree establishes a 24-month transition period, during which market stakeholders must adjust their production, logistical, and regulatory processes.
