Through a circular sent to its members and prospective members, the Colombian Society of Authors and Composers (SAYCO) announced that it will only manage works derived from human intellect<\/a> that possess verifiable originality, thus ruling out the possibility of documenting works created partially or entirely with the use of generative artificial intelligence tools.<\/p>\n

Additionally, it announced that it will conduct audits of the works submitted to its management and is considering the possibility of imposing a permanent suspension of the distribution of such products as a sanction for those who insist on advancing the registration process.<\/p>\n

Thus, SAYCO adheres to the recurring position of the National Copyright Directorate, through which it established the absence of quality for works of expression or products of generative artificial intelligence. Both pronouncements reaffirm human creativity as a fundamental element in any discussion related to intellectual property and copyright protection.<\/p>\n
