{"id":4406939,"date":"2024-06-14T09:05:40","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T14:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/?p=4406939"},"modified":"2024-06-14T09:05:59","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T14:05:59","slug":"uruguay-has-approved-and-adheres-to-pct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olartemoure.com\/en\/uruguay-has-approved-and-adheres-to-pct\/","title":{"rendered":"Uruguay has approved and adheres to PCT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;0px||0px||true|false&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; width=&#8221;100%&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_column _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;1.2em&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.5em&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>On June 11, 2024, the Uruguayan Parliament unanimously approved the country&#8217;s accession to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pathublatam.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT)<\/a>, representing a historic milestone for the country in the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/patents-families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">patents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s adherence to the PCT not only strengthens Uruguay&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/expedite-decisions-patent-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patent system<\/a>, but also allows innovators, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/entrepreneurship-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">entrepreneurs<\/a> and national companies to patent their inventions through simple procedures and lower costs of access to other jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>After a little more than 45 years of efforts and previous attempts to obtain parliamentary approval of the initiative, this attempt started back in July 2023, with a legislation project filed by the Government.
