{"id":4405614,"date":"2024-05-03T12:45:40","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T17:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/?p=4405614"},"modified":"2024-05-03T12:45:46","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T17:45:46","slug":"first-compulsory-license-in-colombia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olartemoure.com\/en\/first-compulsory-license-in-colombia\/","title":{"rendered":"First compulsory license issued in Colombia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;0px||0px||true|false&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; width=&#8221;100%&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_column _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;1.2em&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.5em&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;justified&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>On 24 April 2024, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce granted the Ministry of Health a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/first-compulsory-license\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">compulsory license (CL)<\/a> for reasons of public interest (&#8220;Governmental use&#8221;), under the modality of governmental use, over a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/compulsory-license-dolutegravir-patent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patent covering the active ingredient Dolutegravir<\/a>, used for the treatment and prevention of HIV.<\/p>\n<p>The license permits the importation and production of Dolutegravir exclusively for governmental use, and the SIC expressly indicated that the Ministry can utilize available mechanisms such as centralized purchases to meet the demand for the product.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Superintendence, the CL will come into effect on 27 May 2024.
