It must be noted that said recess applies as the general rule; yet, its one exception is the action expiration term, which may only be suspended by requesting extrajudicial conciliation, as stated by the Colombian Council of State.<\/p>\n
In light of the foregoing, the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) suspended judicial terms between December 20, 2023, and January 14, 2024. Online services related to judicial procedures carried out before the SIC are also suspended.<\/p>\n
Moreover, Colombia\u2019s Corporate Oversight issued a resolution acknowledging the holiday stretch and declaring the suspension of judicial terms starting December 20, 2023 through January 14, 2024, and stating that during said period, all services will be closed to the public at the Judicial Support Group in Bogot\u00e1, as well as all regional branches.<\/p>\n
Likewise, the Center of Arbitration of the Bogot\u00e1 Chamber of Commerce mirrored the above, establishing their holiday period from December 18, 2023, until January 5th, 2024. All administrative services related to domestic arbitration and conciliation will be conducted virtually. Regardless, international arbitration proceedings will continue virtually.<\/p>\n
