{"id":4398813,"date":"2023-09-29T10:49:24","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T15:49:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/?p=4398813"},"modified":"2023-09-29T10:49:36","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T15:49:36","slug":"cybersecurity-breach-triggers-investigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olartemoure.com\/en\/cybersecurity-breach-triggers-investigation\/","title":{"rendered":"Cybersecurity breach triggers investigation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; width=&#8221;100%&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_column _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;1.1em&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.5em&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/security-incident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cybersecurity event<\/a> experienced by IFX Networks on September 12, which caused a crash of the servers of this technology supplier and, consequently, affected the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.olartemoure.com\/en\/investing-in-data-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">availability of several applications and web pages<\/a> of multiple public and private entities, the Superintendency of Industry and commerce\u2019s Deputy Superintendency for the Protection of Personal Data (\u201cDeputy Superintendency\u201d), in its role as Colombian Data Protection Authority, announced the deployment of a series of actions related to this event.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Superintendency issued requests for information to IFX Networks and multiple public entities affected by the event, including the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (\u201cSIC\u201d) itself. It is worth noting that, as stated by the Deputy Superintendency in its statement, they is autonomous and exercise oversight and control functions vis-\u00e0-vis the SIC as controller of personal data. Likewise, the Deputy Superintendency mentioned that, at the time of the press release, an administrative visit was underway at the facilities of IFX Networks.<\/p>\n<p>These actions are aimed at determining whether the required parties infringed the obligations and duties imposed by the Colombian Data Protection Regulations.
