09\/15\/22 – Consumer Law<\/p>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||1rem||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/span>The consumer protection authority in Brazil<\/a><\/span> banned the sale of the iPhone 12 and all subsequent models that do not include chargers. This decision stems from an investigation initiated by the authority after observing that since 2020 Apple stopped including chargers with its cell phones with the argument of seeking to reduce its carbon footprint.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

The authority concluded that this measure is discriminatory to consumers for selling at normal price an incomplete product and that it puts the burden on the consumer to purchase a second product essential for the operation of the cell phone.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

This order adds to the precautionary measures adopted by a Colombian judge prohibiting the marketing of some Apple product references for alleged infringement of a patent covering a part of the 5G standard in Colombia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

09\/15\/22 – Innovation, Protection and Technology transfer<\/p>\n

09\/15\/22 – Entertainment Law<\/p>\n

In Colombia cultural industries contributed 5.82 billion Colombian pesos to national economy in 2021. In the last two years, more than 59 audiovisual productions created in Colombia have streamed on platforms such as Amazon, Netflix, and Apple TV. These projects have generated 1.3 billion Colombian pesos in the last two years and provided more than 20,000 jobs. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

Promoting national territory as an audiovisual destination and as a location, through the creation of the Film Development Fund and the Film Investment Certificates, has benefitted series, music videos, video games, advertising audiovisual productions, and post productions. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

According to the data provided by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), last year orange economy constituted 2,61% GDP of Colombia. The quality of its audiovisual productions boosted the economy and confirmed Colombia’s position as a major player in this industry.\u00a0<\/span>
