08\/25\/22 – IP Transfer<\/p>\n

Colombia\u2019s Sci-Tech Ministry most recently regulated the creation of Spin-Off companies, fostering Innovation, Science and Technology in Higher-Education Institutions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

This new regulation establishes four types of spin-off companies that were not defined in current Law. It now opens up new resources for Spin-Off companies thus allowing these organizations to apply for Colombian tax benefits.\u00a0<\/span>

08\/25\/22 – Corporate<\/p>\n

Colombia\u2019s Corporate Oversight released on 17 August its first Accounting Circular and a new version of its Legal Circular, both of which include updated guidelines for those companies reporting to this authority.\u00a0<\/span>

The update mainly relates to the creation of the Office of Intervention and Supervision on Special Financial Matters within the Corporate Oversight, in order to perform a more specialized, coordinated and risk-based oversight.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

The purpose of these circulars is to mitigate non-compliance with legal and regulatory provisions, and to update guidelines that supervised companies must comply with, by means of efficient tools for their implementation. They are also key when tackling illegal deposit-taking. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

08\/25\/22 – Innovation<\/p>\n

Colombia\u2019s Innovation, Technology and Creative Industries Fund (FITIC), in partnership with INNpulsa Colombia, launched\u00a0<\/span>ENTORNO<\/em><\/a>, a program aimed at providing tools to nearly 600 companies in Bogota\u2019s metro zone, for the implementation of science, technology and innovation projects.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

Selected companies will be led in the identification of their own challenge and be given expert advice in overcoming said challenge. Additionally, the 150 companies with the most innovative and challenging projects will be awarded an innovation voucher to receive further specialized support, covering roughly up to USD 5,500 for services. \u00a0<\/span>
