The Constitutional Court recently unveiled a court decision\u00a0(C – 165 of 2019)<\/a>\u00a0clarifying and reaffirming the inspection and surveillance duties performed by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce and the Superintendence of Companies.<\/p>\n

The court decision ratified the fact there is no constitutional or legal duty to previously inform inspection visits, thus making any surprise visit legal. On the other hand, the court pointed out that said government agencies can access business information and mentions no judicial warnings against private merchant documents are necessary.
