The Colombian Supreme Court on Constitutional matters\u00a0stated last 11 April 2019<\/a>\u00a0that the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) and the Superintendence of Corporations (SSC) will not be able to carry out court inspections any more, when acting as government entities as part of their inspection, surveillance, and control tasks.<\/p>\n

The SIC is the Colombian National Authority on Patents, Trademarks, Consumer Protection, Competition Law, Metrology and Data Protection. On the other hand, the SSC is the Colombian National Authority on Corporate Affairs.<\/p>\n

Although the ruling is not yet available to the public, and thus its true scope is pending to be established, the news has generated quite the discussion among scholars and authorities on the matter, given the decision may impact several important cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
